just looking to see if anyones knows the difference between an ef and an au auto tranmittion. ive been told that the au one is stronger and flows
better... just looking to see if anyone knew

Well the difference is also the wiring loom to the gearbox changed.
I have not heard of anyone so far fitting an AU gearbox to an E-Series yet.

The AU also has an adjustable variable pressure regulator. I wouldnt think too much changed internally...

ive been told that the atuo boxes are the same but they have stronger internals the looms are the same and they plug straight in and out... oh well i dont know

Bit smoother shifting and better internals.
MTBF for an EL box was 200,000km. It was upped to 250,000km for the AU due to complaints from taxi operators, so they must have done something better inside the box. |

just the same auto between them all just different casting numbers and no dipstick |
