Hey guys, i have an amp and sub that i want to connect to my BA XR6. Its just the standard head unit (non premium sound). Am I able to connect the amp and sub direct to the head unit or do i need to buy another one with RCA connections?
I assume someone must have a custom system in their BA, so what the best way to go about it? |

you can get asl (in lynbrook vic) to add RCA outs to your factory headunit... i have no idea of pricing or how to do it yourself... either that or use a amp with a high level input (not as good quality)

Adding RCA's etc to existing head units that dont have em requires digital processors, totally expensive way to go about it, i spent roughly 500 bucks on an alpine unit with 3 preouts, aerpro makes a single din unit that sits where the cigarette lighter and tissue box holder is. seriously worth it, ive got a full alpine system in mine, totally happy with it. good luck with it all mate.

Cheers, did it cost you $500 for your alpine head unit or to get just the RCA connections put in? I still want to be able to use the controls on my steering wheel too!

{USERNAME} wrote: I still want to be able to use the controls on my steering wheel too! I have the ASL mod on my BA ghia premium sound and its awesome. Unfortunately the guy i bought the car off had it done so im not sure how much it costs. I can tell you they run 3x RCAs to the boot. ie Front/Back x Left/Right + Sub. Donno if you'd get the Sub with only standard sound. Im running a 4x100 amp for the speakers and a 300W amp for the sub. I've read a bit about ppl introducing hum with high level converters but this system has none. Oh yeah, and i can still use my steering wheel controls!
