hey guys, didnt know whether to post this in the interior mods section or over here in the 6cyl section.
i am interested in changing the dash in my ea to an el or ef one, which from what i understand, means changing the wiring looms to (including engine loom). anyway, my question is, do you think i should run with the EA engine? or i guess my question is more so 'can you run an EA engine off of an el loom?' mind you, the EA is a T5, MPFI S pack, and i will be putting the thermo's and the bbm in there anyway, its just that to do this mod, i have decided that i will buy an el wreck and use it as a doner car (interior, dash, ECU and looms). and was just asking if it would be easier to transfer the motor to? if it makes life easier when it comes to putting that loom in, or if it is very much the same to harness up to an EA donk. any help would be greatly appreciated, and you can move my thread if you want guys

I would, it would make things a lot easier, and if you have one there's no point in letting an extra 18kw's go to waste.
Plus the EL ECU can then run the thermo's and BBM. I can't think of anything else you'd need to worry about off hand (but it is 1:30am so no doubt there is haha) but if you do need anything else you'll be able to grab if off the EL you're gunna wreck.

The engine loom on an EL BBM is different to all previous models.
Do some research and have a read of Racedirectors ED-EL thread in the Garage section, as he has done what you want to do. You should use the complete engine if possible along with the engine, dash and body looms. BenJ
