howdy fellas,
Basically one of my falcons is about to die, so i though i may change it into a cruise car for te different car shows. Question is where do i find the legal requirements that i have to follow? as in if i chop the roof on a sedan, where do i find how much i have to strengthen it by. and the next question is how do i do it? with bars underneath, or bars inside the cab etc? Basically want to have a car for events such as summernats that we can cruise around in (and maybe a few boobs ). obvioulsy the car has to be road worthy and rego'd. so i shall have to get it engineered, but where do i start with the planning side of things and the legal mish mosh?? cheers Jenko

Speak to an Engineer.
Structural changes a quite drastic, and you need an engineer onside right from the get go. He will advise you of what is required to meet the minimum standard, but be aware he may set a time limit on when it needs to be completed by, and will want regular visits and progress reports to ensure continue compliance. Look up coach builders or makers of a***, as they may be able to point you in the right direction by way of an authourised engineer to speak to. It wont be cheap to be legal Brett
