just wondering, do the series two BF XR6Ts have engine oil coolers?

if so are they worth replacing with a bigger unit and if not can you get kits for these cars?

I do know that the B series Turbos only have an oil cooling strategy built in and when the engine gets too hot. According to the user manual it says... "The XR6 Turbo has a control strategy which limits engine torque at high oil temperatures. This is noticable as a progressive reduction in torque. The oil warning indicator lamp will flash until normal operating temperature is reached." This feature i have been told is disabled if the car is flash tuned.

Typhoons have a sandwich plate that goes between the oil filter and the block which has coolant running through it to cool the engine oil. How effective it is i'm not sure, but in the filter catalogue it reccommends the use of a Z89A filter instead of a Z9, i'm sure the differences are just the overall length of the filter body, not the thread/seal size.

a z9 and a z89a have a different thread IIRC.. and hence you cannot fit an oil cooler designed for a z9..

just as a note, i have a bf xr6t with 340rwkw, no oil cooler, i change the oil every 5000k and it definately doesnt smell burnt or show any abnormal characteristics..
