so about 2 days ago i got my aircon done. worked perfectly. it was icecold.
got up yesterday morning and turned it on. the revs jumped as the pump came on. but i couldnt hear the gas going through the system...and it wasnt cold air coming out
now seeing the the revs jumped i think im safe assuming the pump is ok?
but i couldnt hear the gas going through and i could before it got regassed so im thinking its s**t itself...or have the people that re gassed it left something loose or something...

cheers geoff.

sounds like they didn't do a job properly.

If you paid, take it back.

Nowadays by default when re-gassing, they add a ultra violet dye, much easier to tell where a leak is.

Take it back to where you got it done and ask them what's wrong...I'm sure you have a warranty from it. They should have tested it for leaks before regassing...if they didn't, tell them to check it but tell them you won't pay them for the second regas since they didn't do a proper job the first time.

If the pump is stuffed, it'll be noisy.
Most cases with scroll pumps is a seizure,

What can happen is the pump stops spinning, the clutch slips with pressure, gets almost red hot.
when you Turn the car off, the belt is stationary and melts through and snaps.

"you'll know if the pump is stuffed"

If all the gas has leaked out, the AC clutch should not engage.

Pop the bonnet and watch it.

CAR OFF. Open the bonnet and turn the plate on the front of the compressor.

If it turns with mild pressure chances are its ok.

It its tight and stops, its stuffed.

alright well there no bad noises..just sounds like all the gas has leaked out....it make more noise before they regassed it. so im guessing they left something loose because it still engages and sounds like theres no gas in it. where it sounded like there was some gas in it before i even regassed it

you shouldn't be able to hear the gas.
you'll mildly be able to hear it circulate around the glove box area, but im talking very mildly.

perhaps this is the issue?

im only wondering because that "normal" sound is gone.
