Cop engines are no different to any other engine.

My wifes motorbike, a GPZ900R has a Vicpol number on it......V********P.....was stolen years ago....it has no other identifying numbers, had to rely on casting dates to get parts for it.

thanks for all the replies ill give a good hot wash before i pull it down maybe there's another number hiding under the oil and dirt, only ex cop engine i ever had was in a xc intercepter i brought years ago it was untouched from cop duty, when i pulled it down it had balanced rods and 4ma crank (not just factory balance)and a alloy bodied thermoquad carter carbie and the elec ignition module had a different part number to others i had and was a different color(thats what made me look at number) anyhow thats about all i know was different exept the color code was y427 (from memory im going back over 20 years) not the normal code for pine lime yellow

4MA cranks are in any 351 cleveland so nothing special there and has nothing to do with the balancing of the engine...all engines have their rods balanced!.

As to the engine numbers query, I just wanted to confirm that Vic Roads tend to generate V-R combinations ( which is what I have ) and the Victorian Police tended to use V-P combinations.
