The tail is shutting off your heater hoses when it gets hot. if it cut off his heater hoses wouldnt he have no heater....wouldnt everyone have no heater? does your heater work?

Have checked the heater and it only gets lukewarm despite the engine running hot, looks like this could be my problem!
Will be getting an AU thermostat in it once I've got it back and let it cool down. Cheers, Andy |

If your car is getting to 3/4 temp when it is cold enough outside to need your heater then you have some cooling issues with your car.

Yeah, I think it may be that the rad has some crap in it, the previous owner was a tightwad and only used tapwater in the car, so I have a manky brown header tank and probably a load of crud in the rad tanks! The good news though is that the car now runs and operates brilliantly on LPG - I sat with the cruise control and drove it to Rockingham and back, no dramas and no cutting out. So there you go, I can't really blame the garage for putting the wrong 'stat in as there wasn't one in there for them to compare to and they had used the correct one for an EF. Thanks very much for all the assistance guys - saved me alot of time, effort and money! Cheers, Andy |
