Depending on what components are welded in on the stock exhaust, you may need to remove a resonator and/or a muffler from the system and get straight pipe welded in place too louden things up.

Check on youtube for BA 6 exhaust sound clips, have seen a few of them which have just removed a muffler and it sounds a bit deeper. Nothing beats a set of good extractors and an aftermarket mandrel bent cat back system though :P

drill some holes in your muffler.. will only be good for a short time as it will rust out... but sounds ok... i would just keep saving mate and get it done right :)

here is a link to a vid of my exhaust, not to bad for how dodgey some parts of it are, modified it myself from the standard exhaust, i just cut the front muffler out, cut out the resinator and replaced it with a hotdog, and made a highflow cat 8-) but i also put a different muffler in it i do have a vid somewere of how it sounded with above mentioned mods just with the standard muffler instead, probably wont sound much like a ba would but it might give you some indication as to how it might.

if you want me to put that other vid up or have any other questions just ask.

KWIKXR is right tho, its probably better just to save up, im just an impatient bastard and couldn't be fuked waiting lol

cheers.

Tomo.

Not cheap for me but I did it any way. Bought a flowmaster and replaced the main muffler with it. Sounds loud as! Still have to run a pipe from there onward so we are going to weld a bracket on the flowy and on the rest of the tail pipe and bolt together to make it more legal in NZ. Will attach around WOF time which is due in 4 months. Probably do it in 3 months and 3 weeks time. Once the Warrant of Fitness is done take it back off again. Alot of boy racers in Evo's and Suby's over here with there big mufflers to make alot of noise and they do alot of posing. They seem to move over or duck a bit lower while driving when they hear me coming. Can't beat a V8 for sound. Pure magic!!!!!
