Hey, basically the ED refuses to start. It's just inherrited a new AU engine in it, using all the ED engine's ignition components. It will crank, and sometimes give a splutter like it might start but it won't. I've used an el ecu and the ed one, that makes no difference. The fuel lines are correct(inlet into rail), it's getting fuel and the injectors work. If i roatate the distributor with the ignition on it fires the injectors and activates the fuel pump, which would mean the hall effect sensor works. Also there is a spark from the coil, but currently there is no spark from the leads/distributor. Funnily enough, it was getting some spark at the leads yesterday and wouldn't start then either. Also there is resistance on the TFI pins so i assume the module works (tried another tfi as well, no difference). One thing though is the voltage on the TFI plug (from the loom) is reading 1 volt on pin16, the repair manual says 11volts on pin 16, but it worked before so i'm not sure if that would just change. I guess the first thing to do would be to get some spark, but i don't even know if that's the main problem. I have no idea so any help would be awesome:P

if your getting spark at the coil and have changed tfi, i would double check the dizzy is in the right spot..and make sure thae battery is charged..
either its 180 deg out or even 1 tooth out can cause it not to start...

I pulled off the rocker cover and dizzy cover, everything lines up and all the timing is right. moving the distributor cap doesnt effect it starting either.

OK, now it's gone to losing spark at the leads, to losing the hall effect in the dizzy after putting back the original TFI. Rotating the dizzy doesn't effect the fuel pump fnaymore. Is it possible the distributor just decided to pack it up?

Got a new dizzy into it, theres some spark again as it gives a little splutter. The plug that the TFI goes into on the old dizzy was all broken. I also tried swapping over the spark plug leads (1>6, 2>5, 3>4) which would be the same as having the dizzy on the wrong TDC i think, but that didn't do anything. Also tried unplugging the wires i added to the computer plug for BBM etc, nothing again :S

I finally got the silly prick to start. IT WAS THE COIL! started in about half a second. I always thought the spark looked a bit weak, it was a bit thin and yellowish. The timing light couldn't pick up any spark (it never flashed). The new coil spark is a lot thicker and blue/white.
So if you have spark, timing, compression and fuel, It's the coil:P
