Any ideas. Could something be wrong with my car. Everything works fine although recently my interior lights wouldnt turn off. Close the door lock it and they stay on. So Iv just takin the bulbs out. flick your dash lights to low (the switch next to the headlight switch) and check if you interior lights turn off, if they dont then one of you door switches might not be in right...

the doom light will turn on when a door is open and turn of after about 10 seconds when the doors closed unless the car is turn to "on" then the lights should turn off instantly...

sounds like your doing the right thing, just check against this doco
http://www.fordmods.com/documents.php?d=35

If the car is running and all the doors are closed are the interior lights on?

Yea mate stay on. Dont know jack s**t about electronics tho so havnt fiddled with anything. N my dim light is always put bak to low after use. Im more worried about this key training tho. Dont why I cant access the bem learn mode. Iv literally sat in my car for lyk 2 hours. Tried with radio on off .. Exactly 3 pushes in 5 seconds 3 quick pushes before 5 seconds is up. Im stumped the locks will not cycle lyk they are supposed too. But everything on my car is in good working order so it SHOULD work.

try lock all your doors with the key. Go round and lift all the handles. If all doors stay locked then thats good. But some BEM'S had a problem of not going into learn mode. This may be the case here. Also check all your fuses are ok.

Course. Il look at the doors when my misses gets home from uni but Im sure they all work coz I only had a key she had the remote. Its why I got another. With the Bbem not going into learn mode wat would this mean? replacing it?? I wanted to put power windows in the rear till I found out that bems were different on different models (High Series , Mid, Low) so scrapped that. Ever replaced one??? How hard for a novice??

bem is not hard to change. Any novice can do it. But youll need to programe the smart sheild. For that you need Ford's diagnostic. So you might be better going to a dealership and taking them a 2nd hand BEM which you can get from the wreckers. Im guessing a fair price to pay for one would be between $50 and $120?? But ive never bought a 2nd hand one so thats just a guess.

Reason i said to check all doors is they can look like they are locking, but if you lift the handle it unlocks the car sometimes. And which ever one does this is the faulty door lock. Very common.

is the globe above your ignition key hole blown? that can cause interior lights to stay on, id say the interior light is causing you keypad problem, not your bem
