Does anyone know why my windscreen wipers on my ef fairmont would be screeching. It only happens when there is not much water on the screen, however it is very annoying in light rain!! I have tried replaced the wiper blades with new ones but they do the exact same thing??

2 things to try, Bend your wipers arms down a bit, sometimes, if the spring pressure is not enough, the blades will bounce across the windscreen when it is not soaking wet. Also, I have found that if you use the plastic backed wiper refills, they are noisy compared to the metal backed ones. I know this sounds strange, but it is what I have found in my experience.

could be becuase of the grime/grease on the window. try polishing the window with normal car polish then clean with that spotless/ no rain window stuff.

had this problem as well and i just went and got silicone wiper refills and it did the trick.

and the wiping is awesome since it doesn't streak the water accross it actually wipes clear.
