hi,
I am wondering, if i get ahold of a cobra manifold will it be a direct swap into my EL XR8? I really dont want to have to alter anything? i have read that all the EGR gear bolts up, the IAT sensor goes straigh into the cobra and all the vac ports are the same? is this true? also what size is the cobra throttle body, egr and inlet into the manifold? will these bolt up to GT40p heads as well? (another thing on the shopping list ) thanks Jason |

Direct replacement for the HO manifold. All that may be different is the vacuum tree underneath, might take a little bit of fiddling here and there but should be no harder than sticking your old one back on. Cobra manifolds dont come with throttle bodies. If you choose this manifold, the hole into the top intake will not pose a restriction for your setup.

yer, so as long as you replace the lower manifold aswell, all shall be well
But vic, with your tree coming out of port C. what did you do with the other lines?

It's been a couple of years since I've had it apart but it goes in the same place from memory.
D is just a vac line I think.

No problem.
I bought this manifold from a cobra owner in NY and also wondered too if the bolt sizes were the same. Turned out to be the same ( which in hindsight makes perfect sense - why would Ford change it? ), which made swapping rather easy. I did that pic and labelled the sockets just as an exercise for myself. As for the manifold, I don't use the EGR. In fact I used AB epoxy to block the EGR hole in the lower manifold. The sensor hole was fine and saved me having to install it somewhere else - made it neater.

I run a 70mm BBK TB.
I tried a 75mm TB but I only gained about 1kw or so and lost some low end resolution.
