Does anyone have one for a DEH6850 by any chance? Or any pioneer service manual/disassembly guide for a headunit?
Mine has died and wanna see what the problem is before buying a new one. Cheers Nick

I have them.
What fault does it have? If it's not turning on, it's most likely the flexible/ribbon connector to the face backplate. |

I have a feeling you're on the money as the screen was being intermittent the day it died. Also not sure how fragile the ribbons themselves are but noticed there was a definitive kink in it. I don't suppose you happen to have any pioneer part numbers? Thanks

The ribbon is XNP7026, you need to desolder it from the connector to fit the new ribbon to the connector or you can just buy a new connector aswell to avoid the difficult desoldering of the little legs. The connector is CKS5273.
Roll the big white gear on the right (when looking from the front) and the face will come down. Can't remember if you wind towards you or away, but I'm sure you'll work it out [edit] By "ribbon connector" in my first post, I meant the actual ribbon cable, sorry. |

Stone,
Got any info on a AVH-P7650DVD. I've had it quite a few years now, the transport f**k out (wobbled like mad), sent it to Pioneer for repairs, now it'll play CDs fine, but keeps failing to play DVDs. Sent it back, and they say they can't replicate the fault. I've found it's very easy to replicate.

Do you know where it was repaired? You can PM if you want and I can see what was done to it. fiftyone wrote: i have a feeling i have that headunit. i have a PDF of the manual if you'd like it actually 3 days ago it started f**k up. i think the ribbon on the motor face is f**k. did you get a new one from somewhere? Got it sent off to Pioneer service centre in Melbourne (I think, actually sent it via local car audio store BDL). They replaced the transport (apparently), and while it now plays discs, CDs fine, DVD's start ok but start skipping and eventually fails (~10 or so minutes in, or when changing chapters/titles manually) displaying either Error 02-99 or 02-9E. I guess it's unable to seek across a DVD properly, yet a CD being much less dense, slight errors in seeking aren't a problem.
