Hey fellow ford freaks,
My xr is idling rough and gets worse the longer it sits. It has new ngk platinum iridium plugs, new leads, cant find vacuum lines loose or off plugs all seem to be connected fine. Im thinking maybe idle motor but i did remove it and clean out the gunge in there with brake clean and resealed with 3 Bond sealant. im not leaning toward a coil pack as it doesn't miss when i accelerate. It is dual fuel but does it with both fuels and have flash lube kit fitted. I'm a bit stuck for ideas? any help appreciated. Cheers

How many K's?
Did you spray WD in the ISC after the carby cleaner? (it eats it) have you: Replaced Ignition Leads? Replaced Fuel Filter? Replaced Air filter? Reset ECU? Tested Air Temp sensor, Map sensor, 02 sensor? Theres a fair bit to check, but I'd say leads/coil pack. EF's seem to idle fairly rough I've figured out.

My ics got full of gunk and was causing the car to hunt and idle s**t. Cleaned it out and it didn't do anything. Picked one up from the wreckers and hey presto.

Id reset the ECU, i had to do the same when puting the new leads and Ford XR6 T plugs on (eseries offset). It fixed the problem in my case.

is it manual? is your clutch dragging and putting slight load on the motor? if it is adjust your clutch cable, this can make a difference, does the car still idle rough with the ISC unplugged? test these and others suggested before starting to look at things like comp tests for burnt valves and what not.

She has done about 205,000 k's. I have checked the clutch adjustment as it releases very low to the floor but the pedal height is set to the manuals spec. i am still to replace the O2 sensor. It is quite intermittent like it always idles rough but at times when im at the lights waiting for a bit it gets worse the longer i sit there. I will reset the computer tho and see what happens thanks for the advise fellas.

could be a million things...
check : comp...valves may be rooted due to the lpg injector, fuel pressure issue... vac leaks ignition anything from plugs to crank angle sensor
