Beside the scales and prussian blue for checking/adjusting preload and backlash you will need a tool for spreading the carrier so the centre will come out

remove the axles, drain the oil, remove cover plate, remove both bearing caps mark rh & lh remove shims and note what side is which. remove carrier wiggle it a bit it will come out , remove crown wheel of centre and fit to lsd centre make sure you torque the bolts in 3 stages. reinstall as removed check backlash in diff. if loose add shims lhs when ok . Use blue ink to check mesh on gear gassa

if your going to new gears you will need all the shims and the colapsable spacer to instal the pinion... It will have a number stamped into it... that is the width shim the manufacturer recomends you start with...
A diff spreader is recommended to avoid diff housing damage from prying the centre out... you require every sized shim to then set the toe/heel &face flank contact... If you cannot get these right you will need to remove the pinion again and change the shim on the pinion and install a new colapsable washer, as they are a one use item... remembering to check preload on pinion and blacklash on crown wheel... there a few things that need to be set properly to enaure a good life of the diff... I think toe & heel, move the wheel, face and flank you actually move the pinion... I'm no diff expert by any means by this is my under standing... Tool in the workshop manual (ellery's) are: Torque wrench Spring scales (various sizes) the blue stuff for gear mesh checking diff spreader dial indicator the tool for holding the flange as you tighten and you'll also need all the specifications and tolerances for the measurements that need to be taken from the diff... fair bit of work, but not all that hard once someone who knows that they are doing explains it to you... as was done to me... cheers...
