hi.. im a new member, just bought an EB Fairmont ghia in mint condition just have one problem with it..
went for a cruise yesterdayfor a few hours in about 40deg heat with the climate set low which may or may not have had anyting to do with this but when we got there as it pulled up say under 20kph to a stop there was a clunk in the rear and a kinda scraping sound, they still worked but not sure what it was, it doesnt happen when its not that hot and im not sure what it is..it didnt do it at higher speeds just as it came to a stop, kinda like the transmission didnt disengage or something.. is this serious? otherwise its a nice ride Can anyone help ? |

Have you had a look?
Sounds like the pads / rotors need replacing from the scraping sound.

i had it on the hoist at work (i work for a car dealership) in the service dept. appears its the calipers that need lubing up as its squeeking underneath when the brakes are applied, and they arnt pushing the pads onto the disc properly so its gona get pulled apart soon and see if oiling them helps..makes it alot easier when you see it up on a hoist!ill let you know.
thanks |
