Having some dramas with the airbag in the fairlane. Initially had a code 12 so found the airbag fuse was blown. Replaced it and then got code 52. Tried the reset procedure by shorting the airbag pin to ground after the airbag light stops flashing the code. It is surpose to sound 5 beeps but I get nothing when attempting the reset. Car is due for pink slip soon so need to get it sorted. Any suggestions appreciated.

Sounds like pulling the bulb might be the answer. I will substitute a resistor the same value as the bulb so the diagnostic monitor can't tell the difference. Thought someone might know of a fix but the bulb removal will do in a pinch.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

Maybe you should try the reset again I did it today and it worked a treat it took a few goes but I finally got it I ended up earthing the pin just after I turned the ignition on.

Thanks sloxr6. I'll try it again at lunch time. Did your car beep 5 times like the factory manual says?

Yeah took me a few goes I was about to give up like you. Maybe use a bigger bit of wire I was using a skinny bit for awhile changed to a bigger one and it worked straight away not sure where it was a coincidence or not but I was just happy it worked

Pulled the light bulb out yesterday after trying the reset a few more times. No beeping and no light.

See it was easier to pull the bulb out and no beeping, after the road worthy i replaced my bulb and then Mine stopped after i replaced the front i suppose its the sensor for collision inpact its under the front skirt cover as you open your bonnet. give that ago if you have another one around and see what happens.

Thanks Alan. I think mine is somehow power related as it failed after I stupidly connected some wiring in reverse. I think the only way to fix it is to replace the airbad diagnostic monitor circuit behind the instrument cluster. Will hopefully get around to fixing it down the track.
Cheers
