Gday,
Im new to fordmods, and not exactly that mechanically minded..just want a few ideas, suggestions, tips and so on about what I should do with my car.

I bought the 96 EF Falcon around June 09 so I could move from Broken Hill to Albury.

I got it for $2000 cash and it had
Just over 168 000km's
2 owners (first was an old bloke, 2nd a mechanic)
Cd Player
At least 90% + tread on tyres.
New Air Filter
Pretty straight body (bit of a dent on rear driver side)
And pretty much all stock gear on it but had no rego.

Only thing I needed to pass rego was a relay for the blinkers.

I drove Broken Hill to Swan Hill on 3/4 of a tank..then at around Denilliquin(dunno how to spell it) it started to make a ticking noise. So eventually few days after I got to Albury I went to a mechanic and they discovered the water pump sh*t itself and about hangin off.. so got that fixed for $320.

So basically I want to lower it (of course) But im not too sure how low..thinking only lows maybe super lows but I dont want to be scraping speed humps and so on..I also do a fair bit of travelling so trying to take that into consideration too.
Chuck some 17/18inch rims on there, I like the look of the xr rims from about 2004 models..Ive seen a couple EF's with them on, thought looked pretty good.
Eventually change th cd player for a newer model or a dvd screen..not sure.
Throw in the Kenwood 350w 6x9's I got today.
Color code my mirrors, maybe the black strips..not too sure if i'll buy new mudflaps and color code them or just not have any on there.

Only problem is that she has fading on the rear bumper, paints completely flaked off spoiler, front bumpers haggard (previous owners wifes fault), boot latch doesnt work sometimes n need someone to push on boot while I flick the switch, some electrical faults with tail/spoiler lights and the friggin central locking!

Anyways heres a couple pictures, let me know what you think or just some tips or advice.

cheers

Not a bad buy, but you got raped with the water pump. You can buy them yourself for under $80 lol.

Seems to be a clean unit and I think that bigger wheels and tyres would be a good investment for Bling. :)

I know I am going to sound like an OLDIE here but maybe you should consider making it safe first before anything else? Have the suspension checked (bushes and ball joints) and maybe a good idea to have the BRAKES looked at? once that has been attended to, the rest is open to the amount your Wallet has. :D

Were I a more mechanical and patient person I would of done it myself lol.

haha yeah, my dad went over all that before I bought the car and travelled 9 hours in it. Rotors look fine, front pads were near new but the rears are a little worn but a mate that had the same model had a spare set of pads to give me.
Suspension of course is soft as a fat girls right t*t..made travelling a pleasure lol...but once I save up for lowering I'll change all that aswell.
