Oh. Well I use silicone spray that also does the same thing. What do I need it for.

rust penetrant, silicone spray won't work.

theres no easy way to do exhausts on these things imo, only two hard ways
you either split the exhaust and get it out from over the diff that way, this can be difficult, even harder putting back together...
or you can drop the diff to get it out.
i would drop the diff personally.

Depends what he is taking it out for i guess. If he is replacing it with an off the shelf 2 piece unit then splitting it might be easier.

Both cars have new exhausts. Mines a 2.5 and I think my mates is aswell.
Mine has 1 flange at the cat and I think his does too. How do you drop the diff?

why in allahs name do you want to swap them then?
if you don't know how to drop the diff you probably shouldn't be doing it in hindsight, it will be harder for you

split the exhaust, there'll be a u clamp at the join, just before the tailpipe goes over the diff.
if their pretty new they should come apart easyish. hopefully

Were swapping them cos mine has both mufflers and a 3.5in tip. Its pretty quiet. Only slightly louder. Whereas his has 1 muffler and a twin dump wich is F**k. And he just moved in with me and leaves for work at 5. He is sick of the drone. So lets swap.

The U clamp joins 2 parts? Wondering what it did. So if it dissconects there do I need to drop the diff.
Im not worried about a bit of hard work. Love it

nah once you split it you'll be able to get the tail pipe out pretty easily without dropping the diff.
