oil pressure is fine. even though mines a 6 cylinder, both engines I had had the oil pressure sit between the first and second line from the red at idle. Also in the car manual, it says it is normal for oil pressure to be on the lower end during idle. Oil pump runs off crank I think...or some auxillary connected to the crank...so the faster the revs, the faster the oil pump will rotate and higher pressure. Also makes sense that if the internals of the engine moves faster, more lubricant will be required to keep up with it.

Oil pressure is only a problem when the dash flashes/beeps at you. Its not that accurate anyway, in my ef futura it sits on 5/6, ef fairmont, 2/3. Both 6's.

Maybe the not starting first go might be the fuel reg, not holding pressure, or something leaking like an injector. Just a thought
