It's advisable to put in matching shocks. The shocks won't absorb the bumps so readily if the travel is reduced.

I tried it once with Super Low springs and standard shocks and the ride was really uncomfortable when hitting depressions in the road or potholes.

I had my old LTD on ultralows with the standard shocks, ran just fine but I did have to drive a bit slower over bad roads.

If yours are in decant condition you should get a few months out of them before the ride comfort degrades too much.

But as said, if you can jut get shocks to suit at the same time so you don't have to stuff around a second time.

ok thanks mate . I got some pedders shocks that were with extra heavy duty springs they look pretty new. The springs lowered the car about 1' from stock so ill use these shocks with the ultra lows and see how it goes.

I've got a 95 ef futura, I chopped my rear springs just so see how long i can go around town, ended up dropping it roughly 3inch, looks trick, tucks the wheels up a bit, but my god with the stock shocks its bumpy. Guess I have to get some ultralow springs and some lower shocks lol.

They can go pretty low before they scrub, just depends on your wheels really, i'm running 17x7.5 in the back and they never scrub even on bumpy roads.
