Was parking the car today when all of a sudden I heard a really weird out of place noise. When I drove away it started again til I turned the AC off.
It sounded like soemthign was caught, like a crunching/girnding noise. What wondering what should I check and what am I looking for. It was defintely related to AC since it only hapens when the AC is on. |

From in the car, or the engine bay?
If it's in the car you might have sucked something into the fan, if it's the engine bay it could be the compressor bearing or something compressor related.

It will be rubbish sucked up of the passenger side floor into the fan. A common thing.
This is where the Recirc air is sourced from.

Have you been parking under trees? Sometimes leaves get sucked into the air intake and get stuck. When it happened to mine they fell out the recirc vent when I turned of the AC.

How do you knwo if the AC is running low on gas? Usually you get a gurgling, flowing sound, and the AC is poorly performing.
