Hi there Ford Modders,

Just want to know if you can adjust the worm shaft in a EF steer rack?,
Has anyone done this?, cause the steering in the EF has a fair abit of play in it.

Hope someone can help?!!.

Cheers,
Jason.

It doesn't have a worm shaft...thats a steering box.
A rack has a rack & pinion.
The external adjustment is to force the rack into a deeper mesh with the pinion.
Have you checked the rack ends and tie rod ends first???.....then the ball joints????

Thanx for thate bloke!, i'm used to the old steering box's!!.
It feels like its loose in the the steering just like the old box's (x-series).
then you can adjust the worm shaft?.
I don't know anythin about the rack and pinion..
The tierod ends are good but the balljoints could do with new ones!.

Thanx for the reply mate,
Cheers,
Jason.

my car has the same problem. i dont really know anything about the steering though. all im able to tell is that the slackness in mine seems to be where the rubber boots are near the wheels. is that expensive to fix? its going in tomorrow to get done but i wouldnt mind knowing roughly how much it will cost first. .
