im about to update my pulley setup on my supercharged EL ghia.
im currently running a 102mm electronically clutched pulley (5psi) and im going to be swapping out to a 8psi solid pulley as a test before i try out a 10psi pulley. will i have to take the pulley with me to a tuner, fit it and have it re-tuned to suit.? or is there a chance of the EECV adapting to the change by its self?? im running a J3 chip with the ghia/tickford computer. but im guessing the J3 chip on it now has ignition and fuel to suit the 5psi setup... iam worried about detonation though. forged internals doesnt make it invicible. |

I did it with mine and it's OK.
The tune is boost indexed?

It will be fine to drive to the tuner. Just take it easy.

a few mates reckon i might have trouble running a solid pulley? and should stick with the clutch?
i can imagine a few idle issues with the constant boost. anyone shed any light on this? |

It has a bypass valve doesnt it?
A valve that lets air out from between the charger and T/b to the intake before the charger. |

yes, it has a bypass valve fitted.
thats what i figured aswell. at idle to spite the charger running a solid pulley it wont be pumping enough boost at 500rpm to close off the bypass valve. |
