hey guys
i am after some info and i have searched but found nothing whats the best way to change the spark plug leads on my car????? the dizzy is in a b*tch of a spot on these things cheers |

I replaced them on my mates ED with all the goodies on. You should just replace one lead at a time and don't forget to do the coil lead. You just need patience and a small hand
 You might find it easier to remove the throttle body and ics from the car which will give you more room, just make sure you have a NEW Throttle body gasket to put back on. The throttle body is helo on by 4 screws with allen key heads, 6mm.

i remove the ISC on top of the throttle body. then just cram your hand in there.

it sounds like fun NOT......i might remove my throttle body as i dont have small hands

You dont need to remove the throttle body. Its under where the leads are.
If you really get desperate remove the ISC for more room. Obviously you need to remove the air box and snorkel too. And good advice is change the leads when the engine is not hot. I might be doing the same thing shortly too.

I changed the leads on my EB today. Didnt have to remove the throttle body or ISC. As Papa Smurf said do one lead at a time. I only had to jack the car up to put the coil lead back on. Its pretty easy to do mate. If you were local id do it for you.

how come you had to jack up the car to fit the coil lead on???
will be a few weeks till i install as i am cleaning up a MY04 RS impreza for sale cheers bear |

i extended my coil wires so my coil is above the manifold.
i can do anything dizzy and lead related now without take anything else off lol. i have an old dizzy cap i use to help me re attach the leads and i also run one lead through one section of manifold so i dont forget which one is which when i pull them off again. ie.

I had to jack up the car because i could not get my hand through up the top to put the coil plug in. It was easier to go by underneath. Misk you made a good decision by moving yours to an easier location. Luckily we dont do this often.
