Hi guys,
Am stoked to advise that I've found my new car!! BFII XR6T auto.... looked for a while to find the right one 'cos I wanted the upgrade rims, dual zone ICC with premium sound, but without leather and under NCW 'cos I wanted to extend it for 3 yrs. Anyway, I found one in Swift Blue (sort of like a cross between Lightning Strike and mercury but with a blue tint in it in certain lights) for the right price and whilst it is a bit high in the K's, it is in awesome condition. I looked at a lot of them and this one is in better condition and drives better than any of the others and some of those had very low k's on them. Kudos to the original owner for good work!! Anyway, pics to follow when it stops raining up here in "Sunny" Qld, but for now, suffice it to say that MAN these things go hard!! Love it!!

Well Done mate.. There has been a few people getting an XR6T of some form lately. I only got mine 3 months ago, after starting research 6 months ago - and I still look forward to driving it every day; even to work. It's hard not to appreciate these cars.
How do you find the suspension, in particular weight transfer and body roll? She a stocker? Anyway, congrats and get some pics up. |

Not really sure why you'd say that, I think it's reasonably well sorted for any car. If I'd been ford, I'd have gone for a slightly softer spring rate and fatter sway bars to maintain the limited body roll but provide a touch more ride comfort, but other than that it's pretty good. Car is a stocker in every way from what I've been told!

The car is excellent but a few more little tweaks by Ford would have made it brilliant.

Let us know if you get sway bars, because that's what I meant, body roll is a bit much, but breaking then cornering the same thing happens whilst braking in a straight line - the car leans forward. Lower CoG and firmer springs for my liking will reduce this and body roll; obviously not as much as a 27/28mm bar on the front!
Anyway, has it stopped raining yet? lol |

finally managed to get a photo.....
Mods to come are limited, but want a FPV steering wheel and considering the shyte nature of the standard rotors, I'm gonna get DBA Slotted all round..... otherwise, she is staying as is for warranty purposes!!

If you want to be a real man, and want real man's brakes, I will have a front set of 4 piston Bembo's up for sale shortly. Buy them. Straight bolt on. |

Thanks for the offer Arm, but I'm not going to start down that road..... The rotors are only getting replaced because they are at min thickness and have brake shudder happening and I don't see any point in replacing them with a substandard OE rotor!!

But based on that theory, why keep a substandard braking system when you can have something better.

Not to mention if you put Brembos the price for the replacement pads and rotors cost an arm and a leg. The standard brakes stop quite well anyway.

Pads are $200... Rotors are admittedly expensive, but with the right pad you can get 80,000km out of a set of rotors. So they go for a long long time, considering the braking capacity of them.
