Yes, the head and cam will be a straight swap
Shouldn't be any problems, only thing i can think off is the difference in rocker cover/head half moons between the ED and EF onwards - unless the head is off a late ED which apparently got the "94AB" EF head then you'll have no problems. If you are fitting the EF rocker cover to the ED head you may have to grind the corners of the half moon part on the head as the edges come to a point. The EA-ED heads have squared-off half moons whereas EF onwards has rounded half moons. It's not essential as the gasket should still seal it but because the half moons come to a point on the ED head i reckon it would crease the EF style gasket when the EF rocker cover is tightened down. It's hard to explain but put both heads side by side and you'll see what i'm talking about - thats my view anyway, i have an EB head which will be going onto my EF and i'll be using an AU rocker cover and this is what i have had to do. |
