Ok im deciding to take the plunge and go a forced induction setup (since im working and have lots of $$$$), im going to go turbo the thing is MOST of it will be made entirely by me, i already have a decent manifold design done and will probably get a secondhand ebay turbo, im looking at a "Air Research T04-T3 high flowed turbo" which translates roughly to a to4 with a t3 flange, with an internal wastegate, im going to use a small skyline R32 intercooler, ive got the plumbing and oil lines worked out, my questions are:
1: how many PSI of boost can i run with the standard ED computer 2: if i get 24pound injectors will i need a rising rate regulator 3: if i cant run 6 or more PSI on the stock computer can anyone suggest a replacement/piggyback/ anyway to reflash my computer to run that much boost. 4: any recomended specific parts for fuel reg etc etc.

Stock computer can only take 4-6psi if you are lucky although with a rising rate reg it can be pushed further. I went this route but you end up chasing problems so I would recommend doing it properly and getting a set of 42lb injectors and running an aftermarket computer setup like the EMS 4424 or 8860. Also, the T3/TO4 turbos tend to spool up too quickly for a big falcon engine, most tend to agree a T04 is about the min you want to run.

If this is a six then max boost is around 8 Lb but your injectors are way past there flow potential.30 or 36 Lb will make 255 rwkw without leaning out. You'll need aftermarket EMS 8860 to control bigger injectors..The price for Hybrid intercoolers start at $399 so I wouldn't cheat too much there, though not the best i.c they do the job...
If its a V8 You need 42Lb injectors [don't know why V8's need more?]Then see Mr Landau for CORRECT maf..They Pro-m used to have a Univer blow through maf calibrated for turbo/ s/c applications...Keep compression under 8.8 preferably 8.5 and you'll be right..Start spark at 6* initial advance then tune from there on dyno....The higher the compression the further spark has to be retarded... I have a Ford ecu that can be tuned by tweecer or eec tuner which can be tuned to retard around peak torque then advance in upper rpm too keep power up there...... After market do have boost referenced map senser which helps on fine tuning at upper level boost and power levels way above what a Windsor block can handle.... Check this...http://www.fordmods.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=26&sid=

ok so far we have:
EMS8860 ECU new injectors between 30 and 42 pounds bigger intercooler ($400 dollars ish) fuel regulator (will i need with big injectors?) if so will this do? {DESCRIPTION} how much $$$ am i looking at for these? What turbo Should i use (im only after 6-12 pounds boost) i want to be able to cruise on the highway off boost. Will the stock fuel pump suffice or will i/should i go for a bigger one and if so what type?. OR I can go the cheapo way for now, get a fuel pressure regulator (like the one in my link) use a decent sized turbo (need advice) and the intercooler i have now and run low (6 PSI) boost untill i can afford the injectors, ECU, and big intercooler and then crank the boost up.

Na with ems 8860 fuel can be controlled by the ecu ..So std fuel reg is o/k..A rising rate is a budget way around small injectors but doesn't work too well..Look for To4 and external wastgate...If the manifold is made from gas pipe it can be changed to fit external w/g...

The turbo you initial mentioned will probably spool on and off on the highway due to its small turbine.
You will also need either a larger intank or external fuel pump. If you want a good turbo which works well at low boost you can't look past a 60-1 compressor wheel, this wheel runs out of effeciency at ~20psi and max efficiency is at ~15psi. It has broad islands which start at low boost levels and this turbo will support up to 600fwhp. Couple that to a 1.00 P-trim turbine and that will not spool on the highway (2000rpm) and should still belt out 450fwhp at ~12psi. |

hmmm is an internal wastegate not recommended and why??? and where do u tap into an oil feed for the turbo???

Oil supply is from T off from oil pressure sender unit...See pirtec , Motor sport connections in Sydney....

cheers mate yer thats wat i thought i jus was wondering u know why an external wastegate would be prefered over an internal one

Externals have larger valves..If you have large turbo and want to run low boost it makes w/g work harder.....Internal are o/k they are on the XR6T ...A GOOD designed dump pipe helps flow through w/g also...Older versions had w/g venting into a cover 15mm or so away so gas / exhaust has to travel at 90* twice..It also causes turbulance to main exhust flow...Again a better dump pipe fixes this...
Btw I'm getting close to purchasing two GT30R's turbo's for my car..They are internal w/g... 600+ h.p each...

Also check out the wolf 3D engine management. Cheap for the features. got to the ECU forum and read the sticky I wrote. Autronic is also really good for only a little more than the EMS - going to write a review soon.
