I have had a GRA system for about 4 years now. The only problems I have had is that the original installer didn't know how to tune the car correctly. He knew how to do the gas, but not the rest.
Apart from that, no problems at all. I get about 400 kms from 60 l, but at 50cpl, who cares. Make sure however, that you have a GRA converter, as I believe the valving is slightly different from a "normal" B2. The main problem that has surfaced is the idle, it can be a bit rough at times. A bit of a lack of low down torque, but that may be the cam/head combination I have in it. Over 2500, it goes really well. I would not hesitate to get another system. |

Thats good then. Well they guy who is installing it is recommended from the GRA website and they have a dyno there so she should get a really good tune from them.

If it's endeavour hills where you live, it's probably Swift that is installing it?
They were the ones that did mine. Be a bit careful. They tried to install a larger carby than nessecary on my car, I think they wanted a 480 where a 440 is quite adequate, and did not get the tuning right. It was JMM that finally sorted it out. They were also trying to install a "modified" (to their specs) metering rod, but I insisted on the GRA original. They were (and this is 5 years ago now, so the fitters may have changed) very lax with the wiring as well. I think they also used a standard B2 converter, and I eventually bought a converter from GRA, this sorted a couple of problems I had been having. Other than that, they were ok |

I don't think the Pakenham place is GRA "approved".

to clear something up, the only difference between a model L converter and a B2 (which are made by gas research anyway) converter are the springs inside them.
one is to suit impco, the other gas research. unless specified, a B2 will be sold with gas research springs. and in the case of swift offering the 'modified' metering rod, they were trying to tune your car lol. bit silly to tell someone they cant change the metering rod. gas research also have a CTI gas injection unit that allows you to run a lean metering rod (except WOT) and the lil gas injecter (basically a solanoid) will add extra gas to one of the ports on the t/b to bring the mixture up to 1 lambda using a lil gas ecu unit. but even the normal gas research units are quite good. you must get a proper tune for it though, they can be tuned by changing jets in the idle and cruise ports and also changing the metering rod. unless tuned, you will chew through the gas as they are normally too ritch, but any gas system will run s**t if its not tuned correctly.
