Nup they didn't have a dipstick, so yeah sounds like it might be from an EF-EL.

A.F.A.I. EF's still have dipsticks. Or at least Series 1 do. |

ok so how do i service the bugger then? hah I think that's why the dipstick was removed - to stop back yard mechanics as they were stuffing up a lot of the boxs by using the wrong oil, but if it's just been fitted you should have to serivce it for a while easiest way to serivce it is to pop down to repco get the service kit, like $50.00, sopme Castrol TQ95 (I think that's the right oil, double check), raise the car, undo the pan, swap the filters and what not over, do it all up again and top up. I dunno how you'd top it up, there's probably a plug or something were the dipstick used to be. or maybe the transmission cooler lines? but how would you know when it's full? you';d have to measure how much oil you remove and put in the same amount |
