Look for a green rocker cover (dead give-away), and a gas converter mounted on the exhaust side of the engine bay. There should be a couple of coolant lines running to and from the converter, a balance line running to the air-box, and a gas line running to the throttle-body.
If you see all these things, then it's probably an e-gas |

So who was asking about how to identify a Egas engine? The start of the thread was ...?

What model should i look at? BA BA MKII BF BF MKII??? Are some models better than others? Are the egas model falcons reliable? i have heard mixed views about them. I know ford stuck a cheaper system in them but i suppose with regular maintenance it can be tuned and kept running well. Your thoughts? Cheers guys |

I think it comes down to what $ you can buy an Egas vs Petrol car for, the price of injected vs conventional, as well as how long you keep your cars for.
I've got PRINS VSI Injection on an EF and love it - 2kw power drop and virtually no maintenance, but at the time could have had a conventional setup for around $2,000 less. I keep my cars for a long time, which made the decision to spend the extra $ a bit easier. Good luck with the purchase.

E-GAS Falcons generally sell for a significant premium over petrol-only Falcons, which pretty much cancels out any financial disadvantage of converting a petrol-only Falcon to injected LPG. The Federal rebate of $1750 goes a long way too.
