Gudgen pin removeing ?????
help lol cant see how to do it

some you have to heat up and press out. others use circlips. not sure on Ford pistons

You'll need a press. EF's aren't a circlip obviously, so you can try heat it up and then use a socket extension bar and a hammer to knock it out (I reccomend standing the socket upwards on a bench, then putting the piston ontop and hitting the piston with a hammer... but if your planning to use the pistons again, dont do this), but using a press would be the easiest way... take them to any engine reco workshop and they'll be able to do it in 2 minutes for you.

All the small questions should go in with you other thread asking about bearing and piston wear. Its the same rebuild so keep it all together. It'll be easier for you to cam back to one thread in the future instead of 20 and it's easier for others to answer in one thread. it also helps when other people a dew months from now try searching, instead of the info being split over 20 threads possibly spanning over 10 pages of search results it would all be in one thread. |

Sometimes with the press you can crack the piston seeing as though they are alloy... but with the right tools you can do it, if you get your hands on a press, you will need a tool when you press it...
So pretty much what this diagram means, as you can see the piston is laying on it's side, with the gudgen pin running vertical. You have a small metal bar pressing the top of the pin, on the side of the pistons where the pin runs through you will see a flat surface, thats what the black tool does, it's a hard steel cylinder, with a square cut out, making it shaped like a U, so the two bits of the U sit on the flat surface of the piston, and the press pushes the pin through the cylinder... and done. If you don't understand i can explain further. |

Very true, the press can put it that few thou out of being circular and it's no good. I think Shifteh you should be leaving this up to the experts, because re-assembling the engine without proper knowledge can be a major headache if you don't have the right tools and measuring equipment etc. |

You will probably find some workshops might be a bit reluctant to go off what you have measured etc, just incase they put it all together and it doesn't work it might put a bad reputation on their buisness. Not trying to shoot down what you are doing, just saying that reconditioning an engine isn't the easiest thing to do in the automotive world |

Don't let any of it dry out though, you'll need to hose the soapy stuff off and then spray every inch of it with CRC 5.56 then use compressed air in a clean area to blow the remaining water out. |

got a tourqe wrench, and the toilet brush idea is cool
basically heres the go i drop it off to either phil young or gorenges sometime this week, ill tell them to check the block,, if its good, hot bath it then be rebored, bore it to minimum required to fit oversize pistons if rebore is nessesary then ill bring the block back here with the new bore size info and aquire pistons thinking the acl racing series

Any decent machine shop will want the pistons first, measure and bore and hone to fit each piston
