Hi folks, I have an AU series 11 Fairlane, 5.0 litre. Can any one tell me if the alloy engine cover from the ealier ED/EB V8's will fit my engine. Mine has the coil pack. I'm looking to install one for a bit of bling over the motor. I did have a DC LTD and I painted the cover to match the car, (Burgandy) and it did look good. Many thanks, AU055

Not quite sure what you mean by the "Alloy" cover? I thought they just had a Black plastic cover?

I recommend chasing a Silver S2 / S3 AU XR8 cover to schmick it up abit.

Thanks for your recomendation. I did purchase a cover from an ED V8 Falcon and it is alloy. The original cover on my 1993 LTD was also Alloy! This cover lines up with the securing holes on the inlet body so it just requires a minor bracket to secure the front. Cheers.

Just a tip, I've only the got the 4 bolts that go into the block (where the metal plate goes in AU) and mine is very secure. Albeit i did use new screws.

No need to bolt up the brackets.

Thanks for that, I did have a look at it again and I think I will go the same way. Cheers.
