Yes, they will work. Provided you use a hydraulic clutch setup.

Shifty ninja edit after my last post. Did not realise it was a BA bellhousing, but as per what 67RCE has already said, can be done.

AU should be cable. Only reason it wouldn't be is if someone has changed it or if the very late model AU's moved to Hydro.

As someone said, the bottom two holes in the bellhousing are different locations. Some people just leave them out when fitting (IE - Troyman with his AU engine in box car E series - the-garage-f53/troymans-supercharged-vct-ed-t69802-360.html) and others drill holes and tap some thread into them to suit the E series mounting points (or, drill and tap a E series bellhousing to fit the AU mounting points as per XR-Lane the-garage-f53/xr-lane-s-mocha-foam-nf-fairlane-t73383-168.html <-- Should be direct to the page concerned where as you have to hunt around a little on Troydudes pages...).

Not 100% what the differences are between BA and AU housings (or mounting positions) but this should give you a bit of confidence to give it a nudge.

It sounds like he is going to use an EL T5 behind a BA engine.
In which case yes it will fit, but I dont know if there is any difference in the input bearing snout to allow for the hydraulic clutch slave cylinder.

An AU/BA T5 is the same except for bellhousing. An AU/BA T5 is also longer than an EF/EL T5 in the case. A BA Bellhousing WILL bolt up to an E-Series/AU T5.
