used the search but that really is a headf%^$.

whats the go with swapping out a 2005 BA XT Dash with a XR one?

is it still like the EL's where you have to flash the new odo info and get them all re set back up or is it plug and play?

Cheers

im pretty sure you will need to take the car to Ford and get them to re calibrate everything for you. And im sure it is all plug and play otherwise.

by dash do you mean instrument cluster? or the whole dash?
the cluster is like 4 screws, direct swap. if the traction control light comes on ford can re flash the cluster to turn it off. honestly the k's should be reset to what youve actually done, and that can be done by ford, or theres a place in welshpool near the licensing centre. cant recall the name of it. some peole on ebay sell clusters preprogrammed to whatever specs you want too. otherwise direct plug and play swap. as for the dash, the only other difrences are the dash spears are silver, and they got a better icc.

Yep
And guessing your BA XT does not have Traction control you will find the light will constantly illuminate, unless you get Ford to correct it for you. Keep in mind it will look a bit gay but. You have blue lights in the Cluster and green lights in the ICC. If you do it do both so it all matches.

Swapping clusters will not keep your real mileage .... it stays in the EEPROM of the cluster.

Speak nicely to auMatt ... he does cluster reprogramming ... can also change the fascia of your current cluster and calibrate the speedo/tacho to match the different readings on the cluster ... saves forking out for a replacement cluster ... and you can keep the original illumination colour as well.
