You probably could paint a few bits (if it your kind of thing),or do some custom dial, total cost for mine was nothing .

Ghia door cards + chrome door handles. Best $250 you will ever spend.
Then you can get woodgrain shifter surround $50 and other ghia bits.

Well, firstly what would you consider cheap and secondly where would you like these mods to be?
Outside you could fit some EL wagon tail lights and then a set of clear side indicators and colour code the side moulds and mirrors. I happen to have a set of custom side indicators laying around they were on my el sedan. Inside you could paint some of the plastic pieces on the dash along with retrimming the door inserts to try brake up the vast amounts of grey in the standard e-series interior. All those ideas are extremely easy to do, simple and if you shop around can be done for very cheap. Now if your handy then you could go wild. I have spent around $200 on mods for my el wagon but I did also have a few bits and pieces from my old car to play with. I have found it to be cheaper to buy or swap for used parts from various different models and brands of cars and adapting them to suit your application. eg: EB GT flares and side skirts and a toyota corrolla bonnet scoop purchased and adapted for just over $100. I am still working on the rear flares but the front flares and bonnet scoop were suprisingly easy have on the car |
