Howdy all
Question , IS the AU V8 block the same as any other models , I am looking at building up a new motor , happy to use my heads , inlet , sump ect , but want to make a start on the block , so do I need to look for a AU specific block ? Also is it possible to put a standard 351 crank in it ? Cheers Brendan |

302 EFI blocks are all the same. Actually the last ones we of poorer quality as production ramped down.
351 Crank wont work. If you want 351 or greater, you will need a 351W block. Try a 80s Bronco or F150.

Or if you want more cubes and a stronger block id go for a 363ci dart short block from the states and just bolt on all your gear, nice and easy.

How much power are you after??
A nice 330 or 347 with decent heads moderate cam etc with get you 240rwkw ... Aftermarket starts with 8.2 deck block and std 4.0 bore.. Then after that ?? How much $$$$ do want to spend ??? Std block with light / strong rotating assembly well balanced [neutral balance] and rpm kept reasonable will last along long time with GOOD tune...

You can still get 300rwhp with a std stroke 302 just look at XH5LWEPN's build strong reliable 302 goodness.
