I have found an XB 2door Fairmont that is a convertable.(all engineered 15 years ago).Does anyone know whats involved in putting a hard top turret back on to get the original shape back? Also any ideas on where to locate an aftermarket turret?

I don't want a convertable. The car has been in storage for the last 12 years and is in excellant condition. No rust. Try finding another one for under 30k in that condition and I will take a look at it.

Shoot me the details on it! Ill take a convertible one in a heartbeat.
Would be a lot of work to reverse enginner it and it would need to be reenginnerred again and its a lot harder then it was 15 years ago now days.

Based on that fact my Mum is the best around!

it could be a tidy up, but she is doing a full resto on it. right hand sill is completly rusted, and the GS/GT bonnet has a lot of bog. He first car was a XB GT replica. so XB/C have a place to her. Like E series to me. 8-)

But for 4k, it might be worth it. its your choice in the end. good luck eather way mate.

I have no intention of passing on it yet. A convertable is still cool. Would still like to turn it back into a hardtop though. The price is right to start a good rebuild/restore or streetmachine project.
I'm just after any help or info on where to get the turret and whats involved in re-attaching it to the body.
