hi there im doing a conversion on my xf ute and i have fitted an e series 4 litre motor im having problems with the alternator hiting the front cross member, every thing else is going good ive machined down the inlet manifold to give it enough clearence from strut tower but still having problems with alternator, i want to run the the power stearing set up as well with my oringinal power stearing box, does any one have any photos of a conversion that they have completed that they could be as so kind to show me cheers arnie 29

you need XG engine mounts.
You need to cut the Drivers side caster arm support. (weld in a L shaped bracket for extra security.)
or even obtain the lower front off an XG.

You can use your original steering box, but you'll need to get some lines made, the pump on an XG has metric threads, and you XF steering box has imperial. once again, its best to source an XG box.

Also the XG sway bar is unique, it clears the sump by about 10mm.

Thanks for that I heard that aparently you can use the alternator brackets off a 3.9litre center point injected e series motor is this true
