the leather will need to be cleaned up with metho first, same with any plastics,
plastic bits will need plastic adhesion primer before painting, u will only need to sand the plastic if u dont want the factory peel look on your finish gloss black doesnt need clear, make sure u give it a few light coats and 20 mins inbetween then a heavy wet coat to even things up and get the gloss finish id personally be using satin black, fits in with the factory finish better |

i resprayed all of mine with vynle paint and yer comes off so if u can find some sort of primer deffs go with it
if u sand it so its very very smooth like with 2200grit the paint should proberly stick also get your hands on prepsol rather than metho

The soft dash facia, and top of the doors need vinyl dye spray, all the other hard plastic bits with the texture pattern, need to be plastic primered then painted with an acrylic. Vinyl dye won't stick well to the hard plastic as it needs to penetrate the surface to colour properly.

Funny how some people have problems with plastic and vinyl paint. I did mine almost three years ago and only ever have to touch up things that frequently get scuffed or scratched like the odd door handle or door scuff panel... Never had to re-do my dash, door trims or facia.

I also want to do a massive interior paint work. Like every bit of grey to be gone in the end. What products would people recomend? ie Paints, clear coats, cleaning gear/methods? I dont mind the factory peel effect and will probably stick with it.

MoNGooSE wrote: nope shake and paint! Thats pretty much what I've done, wipe with turps, couple of coats of colour, couple of clear. I used the Supercheap brand for all the hard plastics and VHT for the soft stuff (airbag cover). No issues with anything yet, been there for a fair while now. Also sprayed the door handle surrounds, and you'd think they'd show signs of wear n tear quickly (from rings etc) but they dont. |

i have noticed quite a bit of people put different steering wheels on, but they usually leave the airbag cover the original colour.. Can this be painted aswell?
