hi all !
i will be putting my au 4ltr auto in to have the auto tranny serviced.
my question is apart from draining the old fluid out and flushing the torque
converter clean!
what else should and can be replaced whils't in the box.
eg : can any of the bands be replaced while there in there !

the bands can be adjusted, or replaced if they are buggered, and its best to have a filter kit put through it when its serviced.

Some people do go to the trouble of changing the rear servo seals and gasket? Might be worth a look.

The bands can only be replaced during an overhaul.... :(

To adjust the bands on your AU trans, The valvebody has to be removed to adjust them - using a selective shim system, similar to a wheel alignment camber adjustment... :( :(

If a transmission place did a service on it, I can guarantee 99.9% of them will not remove the valvebody to do the adjustments - It's pan off, change the filter, fill her up with oil & out she goes!
