Hey,
I was wondering if its possible or if its been done before, a sequential scoop (or even XR style scoops for that matter) on an EL non XR bonnet? If so, is it that hard? Cheers guys.

Yeah well unless you have fake ones or something, you would have to cut up the bonnet wouldnt you.
IIRC ive seen a heap of commadores wth XR scoops b4, wonder how they go about doing that. It might be just cheaper to get a XR bonnet insted?

I do realise i will need to cut the bonnet. I was wondering if its a simple as that.
XR bonnets wont fit an EL without a complete XR front conversion The EL XR's run an EF type bonnet still, very different to a standard EL one.

I suppose if your good at cutting metal then it wouldnt be too hard then. I have seen a few non XR's with the cat scratches on thier bonnet looks pretty sweet.

I'm half way through installing a set of el vents in an nc fairlane. would probably be easier on an el due to the curvature of the bonnet . the long bonnet on the nc means the centre of the vent sits up to 10mm off the deck with the ends touching.
after about 2 hours of hand filling i've gone the top of one side almost flush so I'm counting on another 4 hours just on the external parts. the internal rain catcher part will be easier as threr are no metal bonts to file around but i;m still thinking of buying a linisher to do the job quicker.. as for drilling/cutting the holes it wasn't to hard I positioned the rain catchers on the inside of the bonnet and gaffa taped them there (after many measurements ) and marked the holes for attachment. I then centre punched them from the inside and made sure the mounting bolts on the external peice matched. I then corrected the markes and drilled the mounting holes. the vent holes I did with a nibbler and hole saw (nibbler is only way to go, for 90 bucks off ebay I got a nibbler that attaches to any drill ) I just pulled the screen out of the vents and marked the hole then nibbled it out.(hole needs to be bigger to allow for screen but it's much better to take not enough a couple of times than to much once.) you need to alow to have your car off the road for a while unless you want to drive around with holes in your bonnet and whatever you do don't rush bonnets are expencive. ps Im not doing this for wank factor. ever since i've put extractors on the temps under bonnet have been way to high sory about the length of the post I hope your not asleep

in short, it can be done, Radek - the guy who makes the sequential scoops does 2 types - 1 for ef/el XRs and one for non XRs.
essentially in your situation a hole would be cut to channel air into the airbox he also supplies (- which is optional) and the scoop is urethaned (and clamped to the bonnet for a few hours till it sets) he did this with great success on his own EB and has supplied to numerous other Falcons, rice burners etc. co-incidentally, he has also come up with a mirrored twin to mount on the driver's side.
