My EL had that type of convertor. when I got it, it had water hoses tapped into the heater bypass so very small.
Had another 1 here of the same type with 5/8 connections so swapped it over. Another tip is an AU thermostat has no tail to shut off flow to the heater hoses when the thermostat is fully open.

You probably have replaced the thermostat. The original needs a hole drilled into the bottom section to allow flow at all times. I was talking about Overtaking lane Sorry

Older converters sometimes had a tendency to play up like that. I would update the converter as its recommended to do so every 5 or 6 years anyway. thanks im planning on getting it done when i have the cash. will cost about 500 |

Also weather the rest of your system can be adapted over to a new converter. Do some ringing around and see what you find out. I would say between $300 and $400 for just a straight converter swap. |

and yes thats a cougar stubbie holder, its covering a dozen holes that have been drilled in the intake pipe. i didnt do it, but i believe its to stop blowing the airbox to bits incase of backfire. |

Some of those setups look really neat, other's look like a real mess, with long vapor lines and messy heater hoses. I like how my injected setup has the converter mounted down low on the firewall below the heater pipes. Only the injectors & reg are up & visible.
Much neater than the impco 425 setup on my Eb s1 Xr8, which still works good tho. Cheers ToranaGuy
