Ok, quick question.
I was asked by a friend of a friend if I had a EL diff for sale as his winds. I said I had an EF one. To which he said that EL ones were made in Australia with australian parts, pre EL were imported. Opinions? |

I recently changed the oil in my ef diff which has imperial bolts on the back-plate.
Aren't they all Borg-Warner setups anyway?

Never heard the 'import' thing. I'd say its a load of BS. If anything Ford would move to importing to save costs, not change from import to local build.
Maybe its a case of Chinese whispers and the changing of hands of BorgWarner has been skewed to the story your friend of a friend was given. The EL diff is different though, it has the lowered centre pin for the watts link and has different mounting points for the upper arms for standard and for Tickford suspensions. |
