Hi all, this is only my second post first post regarding my car so here goes. This morning started my car up went back in side to grab my young fulla as I put him in the car seat heard like the low fuel beep walked around the front of the car to see what the story was (car had half a tank of gas) and the oil pressure gauge was right down and the oil pressure light was on. Pretty sure it was electrical because the motor did sound a bit noisier while this was happening. Turned engine off and popped bonnet and checked the oil level which was fine. Started car again the gauge was still a bit erratic but engine was back to sounding as it normally does and the light didn't come back on, drove the 10km into town with no problems. Not had the car long the the dealership I got it off had done an oil change not long before they traded it in (Toyota dealership) and was still 2000k off its next service, its was the coldest morning we have had this morning since I've had the car I'm just wondering if the oil was 2 thick ie wrong grade can the pressure be to much and the relief valve open causing the lower pressure or is my motor on the way out the door?
Cheers Edited to add cars an EFII fairmont ghia and I'm in NZ |

Apparently the oil pressure switches die quite often.
My car is always reading full past the red everytime I turn the key. Maybe it just had a short or something |
