I have recently changed my drive belt on my Ford Ghia '97 model, and when the car is being charged by another car (jumpstarted) or by a battery charger the car wont turn over at all to start.
What could be the problem??? My battery reads 12 volts and will charge more if car is being jumpstarted but car will still not turn over?? |

Mate check and clean all your earths and battery terminals first as a simple thing like battery terminals being dirty especially the earth will effect this.
Otherwise try giving your battery a good charge overnight or even easier if you can try another good battery in the car and see what happens but also make sure there are no chunks of belt caught around the harmonic balancer too. Cheers.

double check that the new belt is on correctly. If it is wrong, it might be turning the alternator the wrong way.
