hey all ive just noticed this problem recently...
my car is a 96 ef fairmont, no mods at all stock as a rock.
when i turn my climate control on..with a/c on it sounds like the compressor is making a some sort of fluttering or tapping sound?
i know its related to the a/c because when i turn it off on climate control the noise stops!

so if anyone has had this problem or knows what it could be and is able to help that would be great!!

Mine (a/c)made heaps of noise,was diagnosed as faulty rear?shaft,quoted approx $700 to fix,went to wrecker and grabbed a unit,was the second I got as first although looked ok was stuffed after testing,guys fitted and re-gassed and all good 18mths later,and install and testing was $320 complete,so made me happy.

Mine shat itself also, sounded like a busted wheel bearing. Quoted $1600 for new, got second hand for $150 Fairford Spares and $100 to fit and regas. 3 yrs later still perfect id try this option first.
