hey guys i just bought a BA MKII xr6T, im after some more power, starting little and work my way up.

just wondering where i should start? what i should buy to get some power.
oh also its a 6speed manual

chip and tune can see you round the 250-270rwkw cost 1000-2000

sky is the limit. first would def be custom dyno tune. then when looking for more power ntake , cooler, cooler piping, valve springs, bigger injectors, full exhast with say a 4" dump, but u will need to give it another tune, then u will be lookin around the 350 rwkw mark, but common issue is the diff to become loose and start to produce black lash, also your diff bush will wear out and will need to be replaced. find a place with proven results to do the work. my old car had 307.6 rwkw that was just with a tune, but it was at its max max

ah yeah cool cool, so really no point in upgrading the cooler and adding a boost gauge, so chip and tune first or can Upgrade cooler and chip and then dyno tune?

well if you have the money to upgrade then i would look into a new plenum and intercooler set up with a chip and then a final tune, also youl want bigger injectors

Get to know the current characteristic of the car first.

example: will it stop in time when I brake late before entering a corner at speed & how much body roll it has before the rear gives way. if it feels like the car is tram tracking when braking and to much body/tyre roll noises then it might be advisable to look into the suspension & braking system first.

remember it's a new heavier car to you so get use to it before thinking of dashing around the block with quick go fast engine mods.

The power is not a problem with me, i can handle it, Ive driven much more power cars than this one. as my dad owns a nice and fast mustang. but i know what you mean yes the suspension is a must and will def not be look past, but just after some more power my aim is 300rwkw thats all im after so need guidance if possible to aim for that.

do everything at once, dont just get a re-tune because 250rwkw gets boring pretty quickly and youll be paying for retunes when you get sick of it...
decide how far you want to go and get everything you need

first do
- air intake
- cooler
- cat converter
- catback (or hotdogs for some sound)

then drive to your tuner to get your injectors, fuel pump and valve springs done

drive away with 300+rwkw
allow approx $4000 (can be done cheaper depending on what parts you get)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

if you want more than that you should upgrade
- dump and catback
- surge tank
- wastegate / actuator

and drive away with 350+ rwkw
alow approx another $3000

Im kinda in the same boat, just bought a ba xr6t, 5speed and wanting to do some stuff, but it already has the prem brake upgrade and its on untralows so dont need to worry about handling there, already got my exhaust sytem 2.5 inch twin just need to get high flow cat and dump thats pretty expensive that part.

i already know about the injectors and cooler and fuel pump and valve springs, just dont know what the surge tank is? you mentioned... and also wandering if u kno about the actuator, some ppl say wind my boost up to 15 psi, but just get a 12psi wastegate actuator... doesnt that mean ill be running on 12psi anyway because the wastegate will open once it hits 12?

cant wait to do these mods only problem is i need some new tyres and they aint cheap since im ridin on 20's... cheers

youll need a sure tank to stop fuel surge, youll need this when you go over about 320rwkw, some people do some people dont, they just make sure they have enough fuel in the tank when gving the car a good boot.

you can run 12-13 on the std actuator, if you go higher youll need to upgrade otherwise boost wont be easily controlled

also, i wouldnt recomend running more than 10 psi on the 5 speed box...boom :twisted:

ohh so i need a fuel pump to pump the fuel even harder, and then i need a surge tank to make sure theres enough fuel at the ready for when giving it a boot? or it will have a missfire? how much are they worth?

ohh okay didnt kno u can go so high on the standard actuator.. just need a differnt spring in it, so the diaphram opens later?

ohh really, thats gay becuz i hate autos but i wana have a fast 5 speed, is there a way to strengthen the t5? i kno a guy who has 550hp at the wheels in a 5speed xr8 turbo ute... his gearbox is ok, the diff isnt tho...
