I have a weird thing happening.
I replaced the header tank a couple of months back due to a crack that appeared on one corner.
Now the water level is dropping again and yet there is no leak and no puddle under the car.
It isn't going into the motor. (IE: head gasket) And as I said there doesn't appear to be a leak anywhere.
Anyone else had this problem and if so or not any ideas?

Check your water pump it may be just starting to leak. I've just done mine and it was only just starting to leak. Didn't do it when I was driving only when the car wasn't running, was loosing half the tank over night and wasn't leaving a puddle

if the cap is dead, it will be leaking presure out the overflow pipe, you will have a trace of this other than perhaps a cleaner spot in your engine bay where it is leaking, other than that I would suggest checking the end tanks on the radiator.

ok...checking the thing out for some reason I decided to squeeze the bottom hose and I heard a hissing sound. Upon further inspection and listening for the hiss for about ten minutes I found out it was coming from the header tank.
It is definitely due to the radiator cap. So I will put a new cap on and see if that fixes the problem.
I am so glad I have this site and you guys to prod my aging brain into action. It has been a blessing to be able to pick other fordo's brains and get so many ideas as towhat could be wrong, rather than taking it to a workshop and have them go through all the same stuff and hit me with a bill for half a ferking mill because tey had to do the same dam thing I am.
OK how many of you guys are mechanincs sending problems out to the ford lovers world and charging your customers labour time because you have to keep checking the site for replies to your questions...LOL
will Inform you lovers later of the progress of the bear mobile.
Thanks again
